Kickboxing is a combat sport created by mixing boxing and full-contact karate. You can enjoy its benefits: strength and conditioning, mental focus, empowerment, stress relief, and the sheer joy of hitting high-density foam, without ever stepping into the ring.

We require strong roots and a stable ground to support and nurture us as we grow into our best selves. This is why we named our style of kickboxing ryoku, a Japanese word meaning power and ability.
There is no sparring in this program, so you can train hard without worrying about getting hit. However, this is not Tae Bo or big-box gym fitness kickboxing. You’ll retrain your body to its optimal movement patterns, and learn to stand, move, and breathe like a fighter.
Instructors Jordan and Tayler have both fought at the amateur level, and all class assistants are practicing martial artists enrolled in our teaching program.
Big Change is Possible
We are experts at taking students who didn’t think they could make it through their first class and transforming them into martial artists.
Many of our students join this program when they’re ready to shake their life up a bit. It’s so easy to fall into a rut, to lose focus, to suddenly realize you’ve just been going through the motions.
Kickboxing Ryoku provides the structure, accountability, and pressure-free fun that will help you to kickstart your program for personal change and realize your best self. This isn’t just a workout, it’s a lifestyle.
I freakin' love this dojo!
What to Expect
Our classes are structured in a circuit-training format. Each session is programmed to provide a full-body workout and systematically teach fundamental kickboxing combinations. You’ll learn techniques and tactics used in Dutch-style kickboxing, Muay Thai, and mixed-martial arts.
We rotate the circuit and kickboxing program monthly allowing our instructors to follow your progress from week-to-week and provide the customized feedback you need to improve.
The Ryoku protocol is divided into three phases: Foundation, Integration, and Application.
You can stay in Foundation for as long as you like, or return to it to practice your fundamental movements. Students ready and able to challenge themselves can move up to Integration after passing one of our Pad Holder certification seminars.
As an Integration level student you’ll take turns holding pads with your training partner, learning range, timing, strategy, and other qualities of fighting.
The Ryoku Application phase is reserved for students who are interested in applying their training to spar within the dojo or to compete as an amateur fighter. Students must be enrolled in the Budo Punk Karate Club to learn this material.
I feel stronger after each class.
