At Fighting Chance Seattle it is our belief that the positive energy of the martial arts should not be limited to the dojo. We are dedicated to individual and community empowerment through the disciplined practice of the martial arts.
We engage the community through an outreach program called “The Good Fight.” Our internal Volunteer Leadership Board, a group consisting of enrolled students, helps to organize outreach events, allowing us to offer our unique Self-Defense for Women: Empowerment and Awareness workshops directly and to organizations that support at-risk populations.
In November 2014 we launched our biggest event to date, “Run Prepared”, a free awareness and empowerment workshop on Green Lake for thirty-two female runners. This event was in response to a news report of an attack on the lake in October 2014.
